Country of Origin: The Clumber Spaniel was developed in France around 1768. Size: Height: 16-20 inches; Weight: 55-85 pounds Coat: The coat is soft, straight and flat, dense and weather resistant. Character: Sweet and pleasant, intelligent, affectionate and well-behaved. Temperament: Gentle and playful, low-key and easygoing. Care: The coat must be groomed on a regular basis using a brush and comb. The ears and eyes should be cleaned regularly. This breed is a heavy shedder. Training: This breed needs a gentle hand. They do not respond well to heavy-handed discipline. They will not respond to it. They are easily trained as they have a good memory and like to do things to please their owner. Activity: As puppies, Clumbers are very active. They will slow down considerably as an adult. They enjoy playing fetch and can get their daily exercise requirements simply by playing for a few minutes. They enjoy walks and swimming.
